Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Jan Stryker, a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and Prospective Payment system Coordinator (PPS) at the Hospital, has been selected as Employee of the Month for October 2020. The monthly award recognizes employees who have demonstrated sustained service excellence in their respective departments and have displayed compassion, a caring approach, and continuous hard work within their community.
As a Prospective Payment system Coordinator Stryker is critical to the accurate compilation of data that is essential to successful processing of payment methodology used by Medicare for the Hospital's acute rehabilitation program.
Belinda Needham-Shropshire, Director of Rehabilitation Services at Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Stryker's supervisor says that she deserves Employee of the Month recognition because she "collaborates well across all disciplines with a positive attitude. She works with our electronic medical records (EMR) with tenacity to fully understand how parts of the chart work, and she is then able to explain how to make EMR work better for all of us. Her coworkers appreciate her willingness to track progress and work on solutions. She is truly committed to excellence in care, compliance, and ensuring that our documentation fully captures the good work we do. Jan is a wonderful team player and an asset to our Hospital. Thanks, Jan, for all you do!"
Stryker, who resides in Windsor, has been a member of the MAHHC staff since February 2013.
