Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Janet Buik, a member of the Hospital’s Food Service staff, has been selected as Employee of the Month for September 2020. The monthly award recognizes employees who have demonstrated sustained service excellence in their respective departments and have displayed compassion, a caring approach, and continuous hard work within their community.
As a Cook, Buik is responsible for preparing and serving healthy, nutritious hot food items for the Hospital’s many patients, staff members, and visitors, including baking and next day production for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She supervises kitchen staff in the absence of the Food Service General Manager, Chef, Dietician, and Diet Tech on duty.
Buik’s supervisor, John Frisbee, says that she “is dedicated to providing good food and excellent customer service. She spends extra time in organizing, cleaning and problem solving in her area. It has been noticed that she goes above and beyond in preparing the dishes she serves and she always serves the food with a smile. She genuinely enjoys making others happy and we appreciate her personality and her work ethic. Janet, thank you for all you do!”
Buik, a resident of Springfield, Vermont, has been a member of the MAHHC staff since November, 2019.
