Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) has announced that Lauren Greene, a registered nurse at the Hospital, has been chosen as Employee of the Month for January 2021. The monthly award recognizes employees who have demonstrated sustained service excellence in their respective departments and have displayed compassion, a caring approach, and continuous hard work within their community.
As a registered nurse, Greene monitors patients, administers medications, updates patient records, and educates patients and families on conditions and post-hospital treatment, as part of the care team. Over the past year, she has been highly involved in multiple aspects of the Hospital's COVID-19 response.
MAHHC Director of Nursing, Amy Visser-Lynch, MSN-ED, RN, says "Lauren has been working tirelessly to educate staff throughout the organization about new COVID protocols. She often comes in early or stays late to assist off-shift staff so there is continuity with education. She worked on a Saturday to teach a family how to administer CPR to children so the family could have peace of mind being at home. Now that we have the COVID clinic, Lauren is there helping where she can, and she helped administer the first doses. She is a hard worker, kind and compassionate. We are fortunate to have her at Mt. Ascutney. Congratulations on an honor well earned, Lauren!"
Greene has been a member of the MAHHC staff since May 2019.
