Windsor, VT – Dartmouth Health’s Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) announces the recent graduation of the 2024 Daring to Care program cohort. Daring to Care is a seven-week student volunteer program offered throughout the summer for high school juniors and seniors in the Upper Valley area who are interested in a career in healthcare.

This year’s graduates included Hannah Gardner, Camden Gramling, Latisha Gibson, Eve McLaughlin, Jane Stout and Ali Daigle. Each were presented with certificates of completion in August.

“Congratulations to the six outstanding graduates of our Daring to Care program,” said MAHHC Chief Nursing Officer Amy Visser-Lynch, MSN-ED, RN, CENP. “Their hard work and hands-on experience have not only strengthened their career prospects by offering invaluable insight into the rewarding field of healthcare, but it has also enriched their lives by seeing firsthand how serving patients and connecting with your community can truly make a difference.”

Daring to Care volunteers learn firsthand what it’s like to work in the hospital environment by helping patients every day. Following 15 hours of classroom work, students then have the opportunity to volunteer for rotations in different departments throughout MAHHC. The experience and skills student-volunteers gain are impressive additions to their resumes and college applications.
