Windsor, VT – Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC), a Dartmouth Health member, has named Jessica Nordman, a same day surgery (SDS) registered nurse, MAHHC’s Employee of the Month for April 2025. MAHHC recognizes employees who consistently exceed expectations with reliability and daily dedication to their work.
In her role, Nordman provides nursing care to patients pre- and post-surgical procedure. In doing so, she assesses patient needs, prepares the recovery room and resources, and works collaboratively with other members of the health team to promote patient well-being. Nordman joined MAHHC in June 2021.
Several of Nordman’s colleagues nominated her for this recognition. Their joint nomination stated, “Jessica has gone above and beyond recently, stepping up in a remarkable way during a challenging time when both of our managers were dealing with family crises. She took charge to ensure the OR and same day surgery continued running smoothly, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication. Jessica is not only a phenomenal team player but also an exceptional nurse. She consistently provides compassionate, high-quality care to our patients, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and well cared for.”
Normdan’s colleagues added, “Her ability to balance clinical expertise with genuine kindness makes a lasting impact on both patients and their families. Jessica’s bright, smiling face and unmistakable, contagious laugh are a constant source of joy on the unit. (It’s loud, but in the best way—it’s the sound of Jessica bringing positivity to those around her!) In addition to her incredible attitude, Jessica has played a vital role in training several new staff members, ensuring they felt supported and confident. Thanks to her guidance, these new team members have become integral parts of our unit. Jessica is more than a team player—she’s a leader, a mentor, and a shining example of what makes this workplace great.”
